Terms of Use
By playing CoasterTycoon, you agree to these rules. We’ve kept them as short and clear as possible.
1. The game
CoasterTycoon (coastertycoon.com) is a free theme park game made by Netron ICT, Virulyweg 43-b, 7602 RG Almelo, Chamber of Commerce number 93536399, which you play in your browser. You may use it for your own enjoyment. The game is intended for players who want to play fairly.
2. Fair play
- Play fairly. Don’t use tools, scripts or game bugs to get money, gems, rewards or a leaderboard position you haven’t earned.
- Don’t create lots of accounts to collect rewards, and don’t use automated programmes (bots) to play the game or create accounts.
- Don’t disrupt or damage the server, the game or other players, and don’t try to break into other people’s accounts or systems.
- Choose a park name that is appropriate for everyone: no swear words, threats or other people’s names.
The game checks whether the figures in your park match the amount of time you’ve played. If something doesn’t add up, we may review your park, temporarily withhold rewards or your place on leaderboards, restore your park to an earlier valid version or, in cases of abuse, block your account.
3. Your account
You can play as a guest or create an account with your email address and a password. You are responsible for your password and for what happens with your account. Keep your password secret. Your account is personal to you; don’t share it with anyone else. If you’re under sixteen, ask a parent or guardian to read this with you before creating an account.
A guest park is deleted seven days after your last visit. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]; see also the privacy statement.
4. Gems and other in-game items
Gems, money, land, rides and everything else you earn or build in the game are virtual game items. They have no value outside the game, cannot be exchanged for real money, and cannot be transferred or sold to anyone else. They remain part of the game and may change when we update it, for example to rebalance it or update a ride. You can earn gems by playing, and you’ll soon be able to buy them too (see below).
5. Buying gems
These rules apply once you can buy gem packs in the game. You never need to buy anything to play.
- Seller: Netron ICT, Virulyweg 43-b, 7602 RG Almelo, Chamber of Commerce number 93536399.
- Price: the price of each pack is shown in the game next to the pack, in euros and including VAT, before you pay. You’ll always know exactly what you’re getting in advance.
- Payment: you pay through our payment partner Mollie, for example using iDEAL. We cannot see your bank details.
- Delivery: the gems are added to your account as soon as your payment succeeds. Purchased gems can only be used with an account, not as a guest.
- Right of withdrawal: because gems are digital content delivered straight away, we ask you at checkout to agree that delivery starts immediately. By agreeing, you give up your right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days. You cannot complete checkout without agreeing.
- Problems: if your gems haven’t arrived after payment or you’ve been charged twice, email [email protected]. We’ll look into it and put things right.
- Under 16? Ask your parent or guardian for permission before buying anything.
- Purchased gems remain on your account for as long as the game exists. Gems are not refunded as cash, except where required by law.
6. No guarantee
We do our best to keep the game working well, but can’t promise that it will always be available or error-free. Maintenance may be needed, or something may go wrong. We regularly make backups, but can’t guarantee that a park will never be lost. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from your use of the game. Your rights as a consumer remain unchanged.
7. Ownership
The game, images, text and design belong to Netron ICT (the creator of CoasterTycoon) or to the people we commissioned to make them. You may not copy or distribute them. You’re welcome to show parks and names you create yourself, for example in a screenshot.
8. Advertising and links
The game currently shows no video ads. If optional videos are ever added, you’ll choose whether to watch them, and they will be provided by Google. Read the privacy statement to find out how this affects your data. We are not responsible for third-party sites we link to.
9. Changes and ending the game
We may change the game and these terms. For important changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If you continue playing after a change, you agree to the new terms. We may block or delete an account if someone breaks the rules. If we ever close the game, we’ll try to let you know in advance.
10. Applicable law and questions
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Have a question or complaint? Email [email protected]; we can usually work it out together.
