About CoasterTycoon

CoasterTycoon is a free theme park game you play in your browser. Build paths, coasters, rides and stalls, then watch your park fill up with guests. There is nothing to download or install.

What is the game?

In CoasterTycoon, you start with an empty plot of land and a small budget. Turn it into a theme park that guests love to visit. Choose what to build and where to put it: where will your guests walk, what do they want to eat and drink, which rides will they enjoy, and how long can a queue be before people give up?

You earn money from ride tickets and stall sales. Spend it on new rides, more land and staff. Your park can grow from a few paths and a snack stall into a busy theme park with giant coasters. The game is cheerful and colourful, and is made for relaxed play, even if you only have ten minutes.

What can you do?

• Build your own coasters. Build a track piece by piece, with turns, hills, banked turns and loops, then take a test ride. You can also place a ready-made design. There are sixteen types of coaster, from the little Wild Mouse to the Sky Giant. See all coasters.
• Choose from more than fifty rides. From little boats and a carousel to a drop tower, ghost train and log flume. See all rides.
• Build stalls and facilities. Guests get hungry and thirsty, and need to use the loo. Stalls selling chips, ice cream, pancakes or coffee keep them happy and earn you money.
• Decorate your park. Trees, flowers, hedges, fountains and benches make your park more welcoming.
• Hire staff. Cleaners clear up litter, mechanics repair rides, security guards keep order and entertainers keep guests in the queue happy.
• Complete goals. A series of goals guides you through the game, gives you rewards and unlocks new levels with new rides.
• Join events. Around holidays and during weekly events, you can earn rides and decorations that are only available then.
• Keep playing wherever you like. Create an account and your park is saved online, so you can carry on playing on your phone, tablet or computer.

Who is it for?

Anyone who enjoys theme parks, building and running things. The game is calm enough for children and has plenty to explore if you want to improve your park. There is no rush: no clock is pushing you, and your park keeps earning for a while when you are away. It is made for the whole family. If a child is under sixteen, ask a parent or guardian to take a look before creating an account.

Free, and honest about advertising

You can play CoasterTycoon for free. You do not have to pay to build anything, and the game does not interrupt you with videos. We do not place adverts on these information pages or in the game. There are no video adverts in the game right now. If optional videos are ever added, for example to complete a small action for free instead of paying with gems, you will always choose whether to watch one. The privacy statement will explain exactly what that means for your data.

Who makes it?

CoasterTycoon is made and run by Netron ICT, a small independent developer from the Netherlands. It is not a game from a big company with a huge advertising budget, but a project built with care. The game is always growing, with new coasters, rides, decorations and events added regularly. Read about recent changes on the Updates page.

All the text in the game is in Dutch. Your data is stored on a server in the Netherlands. The privacy statement explains exactly what we store and why, and the Terms of Use explain the rules for playing.
