What is CoasterTycoon?

CoasterTycoon is a free theme park game you can play in your browser. You start with a plot of land and a small budget, then turn it into a park that guests love to visit. Lay paths, build stalls selling chips and ice cream, place rides from carousels to free-fall towers, and design your own coasters, turn by turn and hill by hill. Earn money from ticket sales and shops to buy new rides, more land and staff.

The game is cheerful, relaxed and made for the whole family. Your park is online, so you can continue playing on your phone, tablet or computer. It also keeps running for a while when you’re away. Read more about the game.

How to get started

  1. Lay a path

    Guests only walk on paths. Start at the entrance and make a loop.

  2. Place a stall and a ride

    Hungry guests buy food, and a ride gives them a reason to visit. Connect it to a queue.

  3. Design a coaster

    Choose a type, build the track piece by piece or place a ready-made design, run a test and open it.

  4. Grow your park

    Complete goals, buy land, hire staff and unlock new levels.

Sixteen types of coaster

From the small Wild Mouse and Wooden Coaster to the Whirlwind, Winged Flight and the Cannonball, which launches you into the air. Each type has its own track pieces and ride experience.

New in the game

Queue bridges, benches on bridges and smoother play in big parks

  • Queues can now cross paths and other things too: drag a queue over them and it goes up stairs, over a bridge and back down, up to a height of 3, just like a path. Guests in the line simply walk along over the bridge.
  • Benches, bins, signs and lamp posts with a bench or bin now also stand on bridges: on a path bridge and on a queue bridge (there only what fits in a queue). Guests sit down on a bench on the bridge, throw their litter in the bin and a handyperson comes to empty it there. “Add 3-in-1 posts to every path” and the 3-in-1 post now think of your bridges too. Build a bridge over a bench and the bench goes, and you get 30 per cent back.
  • You can now see an open gate in a winding queue from far away: its posts turn green and a green arrow shows where guests take the shortcut.
