Updates

CoasterTycoon is updated regularly. Here you’ll find a plain-English summary of what’s new, with the latest updates first. Everything listed here is already in the game.

Coming soon: Spooky Week is on now and runs through Monday 2 November 2026. The St Nicholas in the Park event follows on 14 November, then Winter Wonderland on 7 December and New Year on 28 December. The home page always shows the current event.

Queue bridges, benches on bridges and smoother play in big parks

  • Queues can now cross paths and other things too: drag a queue over them and it goes up stairs, over a bridge and back down, up to a height of 3, just like a path. Guests in the line simply walk along over the bridge.
  • Benches, bins, signs and lamp posts with a bench or bin now also stand on bridges: on a path bridge and on a queue bridge (there only what fits in a queue). Guests sit down on a bench on the bridge, throw their litter in the bin and a handyperson comes to empty it there. “Add 3-in-1 posts to every path” and the 3-in-1 post now think of your bridges too. Build a bridge over a bench and the bench goes, and you get 30 per cent back.
  • You can now see an open gate in a winding queue from far away: its posts turn green and a green arrow shows where guests take the shortcut.
  • Big parks with thousands of guests run more smoothly, especially on your phone: the game now only draws the guests on your screen. When you zoom far out, you see a fixed share of the crowd. Every guest keeps walking around, eating and going on rides as usual.

Double cash, videos that wait for you and a stricter park rating

  • Double cash: watch a video and everything you earn from tickets and stalls counts double for 15 minutes. Watch more videos to extend it up to an hour. Spend 100 gems for half a day of double cash. A timer at the top shows how long it lasts.
  • A video now pauses if you switch to another tab or app, and resumes when you return.
  • The park rating is stricter: to get a top score you now need many different rides, exciting coasters, enough stalls and toilets and truly happy guests. Your park gets its new rating automatically. The goals for a high rating have therefore been set a little lower.
  • New start screen: when you tap Play free, you first choose Play now, Log in or Create account. So if you want to log in, you no longer get a new empty park first.
  • Queues no longer have a maximum: every tile gives 2 places, so the longer your queue, the more guests fit in it. Guests check how long they will have to wait when they join and no longer walk away halfway. They wait longer for exciting rides. The ride window shows how many places your queue has.
  • Fixed: on some coasters and water rides a piece of track was missing even though the supports were there. This happened when two rides in your park had the same special track piece.
  • CoasterTycoon now speaks eight languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Chinese. Tap a flag on the start screen, under Menu in the game or at the top of the site to switch language straight away. Your park is kept as it is.
  • When you tap a video or Visit, the advertiser’s website now always opens, even if your browser blocks pop-ups. Double-tapping no longer opens two tabs.

Bridges over paths, faster queues and weekly leaderboard gems

  • Bridges: drag a path across other paths, queues, stalls, low rides and coaster track on the ground. The path raises itself, crosses the bridge and comes back down, up to a height of 3. You can place lights on a bridge so it’s lit at night too.
  • Guests now move about 60 per cent faster in queues. On winding queues, gates open when it’s quiet so guests can take a shortcut, and close again when it gets busier.
  • Guests spread out better in large parks: quiet corners and rides far from the entrance now attract guests too.
  • No more complaints about long queues. Guests no longer say “What a long queue”, and rides no longer get a “Long wait” complaint: a full queue is a good sign.
  • The maximum number of guests now grows with the space in your park, up to 10,000. More queue space and more seats on rides mean more guests. Guests also carry more money and withdraw more from the cash machine, so they stay longer.
  • Weekly leaderboard gems: the top ten players on each “This Week” leaderboard earn gems: 100 for 1st place, 90 for 2nd and so on down to 10 for 10th. The reward is shown straight away next to each place. The first payout is on Monday 2 November. While you’re away, about 20 per cent of your progress counts towards Most Guests and Busiest Coaster.
  • The Rides window now has Open All and Close All for the list you’re viewing (closing asks you to confirm first). You can type a ticket price directly into each ride, and one button sets all rides or stalls of the same type to the same price.
  • The Activities window now shows which three activities are coming next under Coming Soon, and when they start.
  • The route for “Surprise Me: Exciting Finish” is smaller and stays within the land around your coaster, with only a small amount extending beyond it.

Duel coasters in pairs, exciting finishes and a name for your park

  • Duel: one station now builds two mirrored coasters at once, Red and Blue, which launch together and race each other. Anything you build on one track is mirrored on the other. New pairs share one central platform. You can see which train won in the coaster window; you won’t get a separate notification.
  • Surprise Me: Fun Finish now creates a track about three times as long, with a lift or hills, a big drop, turns, waves and spirals. New: Surprise Me: Exciting Finish, with a high lift, big drops and at least one inversion if that coaster type has one.
  • Guests enjoy thrills: they’re much less likely to feel scared or sick on an intense coaster. They only complain that “It’s too wild for some riders” about truly extreme tracks.
  • Guests now board all coasters at the front and fill the train from front to back, even if you swapped the entrance and exit. The Suspended Coaster has two seats beside each other in every gondola, so it can carry about twice as many guests.
  • Give your park its own name: tap the park entrance or choose Your Park in the menu. You can also rename coasters and rides using the pencil next to the name in their window.
  • Later plots of land now become expensive more slowly: the next plot in a large park costs almost half as much extra as before. Two long goals, Spinning Things and Ride Fever, have been cut in half.
  • The build menu now shows what you own: a green tick for 1 and the number you have for 2 or more, for stalls, rides and coasters. The maximum number of guests also grows faster with the size of your park.
  • Watching a video is always your choice, and you can skip it with one tap after 15 or 25 seconds; you’ll receive your reward straight away.

River Adventure, day and night, rain and lights along your paths

  • River Adventure: round boats with six seats travel along a narrow river with rapids, islands and a whirlpool. The boats gently bump into each other and the banks. You board at a rotating station surrounded by a canal.
  • Five new large coaster pieces: Weightless Roll, Immelmann, Hangtime, Overbank and Top Hat, for coasters including the Steel Coaster, Wing Flight, Deep Dive and Tilt Fever. Two ready-made designs let you try them straight away.
  • Day and night: a day in the game lasts 24 minutes, and days are longer than nights. At night, the sky turns blue, but never pitch black. Guests on an unlit path are a little less happy. An on-screen clock shows the time.
  • Rain: first you’ll see clouds and a “Rain shower coming” message. Guests without an umbrella or poncho get wet and less happy, and often look for an indoor ride. New stalls: the Umbrella stall, Poncho stall, Balloon stall and Rain and Balloon stall, which sells everything. A poncho also keeps you dry on water rides.
  • Lights and furniture: in the Paths tab, choose Path + 3-in-1 or Queue + 3-in-1 to place a pole with a light, bench and bin every few tiles. Choose “Add 3-in-1 to all paths” to do this throughout your park; queues get a light and a bin. There’s now a light at ride entrances and exits and at the park entrance too.
  • You can now finish a coaster in two ways: Direct, or Surprise Me: Fun Finish, where the game designs a fun route back to the station. Preview the track and cost first, and build it only if you want to. Both options keep entrances and exits clear and work for River Adventure too.
  • Guests board faster and fill the front seats first. The window for each coaster or ride now shows a tip if guest satisfaction is low, for example if the ride is too intense or too boring.
  • You can buy extra land from the start, and the first guest goal is complete at 25 guests. Your park can now hold up to 3,500 guests, and the number of staff you can hire grows with your land, from 100 to 250. Staff member number 61 onwards are visible again too.
  • The water track on Water Storm Plus now connects more neatly to the rails, with edges where the water starts and ends. Airflow riders are larger on screen, and the pictures in the build menu move more gently.

Fourteen large rides, eight new coasters and winter events

  • Fourteen large rides, from 5 by 5 to 7 by 7 tiles, including the XL Arcade, Play Palace, Dino Safari, Giant Pendulum, Flying Theatre, Splash Battle with water cannons and Falcon Castle. Guests walk into the XL Arcade and Play Palace and spend different amounts of time playing there.
  • Six new coaster types: Airflow (you lie flat beneath the track), Sprint (motorbikes on rails), Backlash (travels all the way along the track and back), Switchwind (launches forwards and backwards), Arrow (on one wide beam) and Duel (red against blue).
  • Water Storm Plus: boats travel through calm channels and a dark tunnel, climb the lift chain and splash into the water at the bottom of the drop. Shaft Drop: a super-wide train with six seats across plunges straight down a shaft.
  • New coaster pieces, including the Magnetic Block Brake, Dive Brake, Gondola Lock and Rollback Hill.
  • You can now choose the length of your train; short trains are possible too.
  • Guests board and exit coasters about one-third faster, and now walk along the platform instead of through it.
  • Winter Wonderland (7 to 27 December) with the Light-Up Wheel, Snow Cloud Carousel and Christmas Cookie stall, and New Year (28 December to 10 January) with the Celebration Cake Carousel, Midnight Clock and Doughnut Ball stall are ready to go.
  • Land prices rise more slowly; only the outer edges of the map are still really expensive.
  • More movement: the Celebration Express and Sea Serpent rock up and down, and guests walk around in the Fairy-tale Forest.

Spooky Week, install the game as an app and a welcome gift for new players

  • Spooky Week has started. Its tasks now take about 40 per cent less play time than before.
  • There’s an Install app button in the menu. A small prompt also appears after 10 minutes of play. Install and open the app to receive a one-time reward of 25 gems. The app icon changes to match the event, currently Halloween.
  • A faster start: create a new account and, after 5 minutes of play, you’ll receive a starting bonus of cash and 50 gems. The first 20 plots of land are 25 per cent cheaper, and rewards for the first 25 goals are one and a half times larger.
  • In busy parks, guests visit stalls less often: they get hungry and thirsty more slowly, buy more portions at once and choose queues more carefully. As a result, queues for rides are much fuller.
  • Trains now wait neatly in line at the station: the next train is ready and moves forward as soon as the train in front leaves. A train departs shortly after the last rider takes their seat.
  • More movement around the park: the Flying Carpet swings back and forth, the Bungee Trampoline bounces on stretching cords, and the High Striker, ice rink and skaters, bouncy castle, climbing tower and surf machine all move. The Ghost Train, Pharaoh’s Tomb and Canal Cruise now really move. Bumper Cars are easier to see: the cars and drivers are visible in the tent and jolt when they bump into each other.
  • St Nicholas in the Park (from 14 November) is ready: the Wooden Shoe Swing, Gingerbread House and gift bundles to collect.
  • The Paths tab now has attractive pictures for Path, Queue, Bulldoze and Move. On computers, the menu always fits on screen and you can scroll inside it.

Install as an app, leaderboards and calmer stations

  • Add CoasterTycoon to your Home Screen through your browser and the game opens like a real app, without the browser’s address bar.
  • Leaderboards for Best Coaster, Busiest Coaster, Most Guests and Highest Park Rating. Each coaster now also has a guest satisfaction score.
  • New coaster pieces: flying rolls, a dive loop, water jets, a tyre lift, themed passages and more, depending on the coaster type.
  • Cards for each coaster type and a picture of each track piece make it quicker to see what a piece does.
  • Your land is now shown on the map: tap a plot for sale to view and buy it.
  • Idle mode: if you leave the game open without doing anything, it asks “Are you still there?” and your park carries on quietly.
  • Rides now have their own vehicles, and guests enter and leave stations more calmly.
  • On computers, the coaster builder no longer jumps around, and you can preview a piece by hovering over it with the mouse.

Spooky Week, more land and a fresh start

  • Spooky Week is ready for Saturday 24 October: tasks, two haunted houses, Monster House and Bat Villa, and the Witch’s Cauldron stall with Witch’s Brew. Pumpkins will appear on paths during the event.
  • New parks start with a larger map. Existing parks have already received the extra land for free.
  • You can now start over in three ways: clear your park, start again with your land, or start completely from scratch.
  • Queues find their own way to a ride, and you can swap a ride’s entrance and exit.
  • More movement around the park: Swing Boats, the Mini Golf windmill, the Steamboat wheel and the Mushroom Carousel spin and move. Guests now really climb and slide on the Wave Slide, Water Slide and Funhouse.
  • Coasters and tall rides are now landmarks that guests can see from far away, so they’re drawn to the big rides more quickly.

Five new coasters, 61 new decorations and ready-made designs

  • Wing Flight, Deep Dive, Sky Giant, Headspin and Tilt Fever arrive, each with its own cars.
  • The Cannonball: a coaster with a launch piece that fires the train forward.
  • 61 new trees, bushes, flowers and park decorations in the Decor tab.
  • Ten ready-made coaster designs you can place straight away.
  • The No Entry sign lets you choose which side of a path guests cannot pass through.
  • Guests are smarter: they reserve a ride while walking, keep looking for food and drink when they need it, and spread out better around your park. Your park can hold more guests.
  • The game runs more smoothly on phones and starts in low quality, so it works well on older devices too.

Whirlwind and Water Storm

  • Whirlwind: a coaster with spinning tubs that whirl around on the turns.
  • Water Storm: four-seat boats on a water track, with water flowing through the channel.
  • New coaster icons in the build menu.

More than fifty rides

  • The first big expansion: more than fifty rides in groups, from Swing Boats and Carousel to Drop Tower and Ghost Train.
  • Gems, a daily reward and special stalls.
  • Create an account with your email address to keep your park online.
  • Hills and a chain lift for your coasters, plus more land to buy.
